President appoints Sarwar Punjab Governor

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of prime minister has appointed Muhammad Sarwar as Governor of Punjab. The president signed Wednesday the commission of appointment in respect of Muhammad Sarwar as Governor Punjab.
Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that in terms of Article 101(1) of the constitution, Governor of a province shall be appointed by the president on the advice of prime minister.
JOINT EFFORTS TO IMPROVE LAW, ORDER: PM
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif discussed law and order situation with Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak with particular reference to the terrorist attack on DI Khan jail a couple of days back. KPK Chief Minister came here to attend the CCI meeting and after attending the meeting he held one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister. Nawaz stressed the need for ensuring joint efforts among the provinces and Federal Government to avoid recurrence of such incidents in the future.
He assured the Chief Minister that the Federal Government is ready to provide all possible assistance to the provinces.
The Prime Minister hoped that the terrorists who escaped would be arrested and the culprits of the incident punished according to the law.
