Govt determined to promote IT

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has said that the Punjab government is according priority to information technology so as to prepare the youth for the future challenges.
He was addressing a ceremony held to inaugurate a computer lab at Govt Postgraduate College Attock. The minister said that the Punjab chief minister during his last five-year tenure ensured the establishment of computer labs at all the high schools of the province and now similar labs were being established at college level which is a milestone.
He said that these labs would enable the students to learn information technology subject free of cost. He said that the provision of basic facilities was also being ensured in all the schools across Punjab province. Free text books and basic facilities in schools and highly qualified teachers would certainly help improve standard of education and increase literacy rate.
Principal Ghulam Mustafa Kiyani, Vice Principal Tariq Javed, Prof Muhammad Saeed Khattak, lecturers Sharif Zahid, Nasir Shah and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
