HYDERABAD - Dr Essa Lab & Diagnostic Centre, in collaboration with HPC and Rotray club of desert hawk, has organized a free medical camp here at Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) on Tuesday. The Bone minerals density (BMD), Random Blood Sugar (RBS) and Cholesterol tests of the journalists and press club members were conducted free of cost during one day free medical camp. Apart from screening of the HPC members, an awareness session with regard to Dengue fever and Mental Health issues was held to provide knowledge for taking preventive measures. Dr Safian Ahmed briefed the journalists about Dengue fever and said the only way to save people from this infection was to keep themselves away from Dengue mosquitoes. As many as 45 people have lost their lives in Sindh due to Dengue fever in the year 2021 while 45000 people were affected by this virus in the mentioned period. Dr Safian said the media could play an important role in providing awareness as Dengue fever could only be faced by taking preventive measures. He advised the people to keep themselves protected against mosquito bites and prevent mosquito breeding inside and outside your home. He urged the people to avoid visiting areas prone to mosquitoes. Senior Psychiatrist Dr Shah Nawaz Dal also shared his views with regard to mental health issues. The representatives of the Rotary club and Dr Essa Lab management also shared their views. Speaking on the occasion, President Hyderabad press club, Abdullah Shaikh and secretary Iqbal Mallah informed that Dr Essa Lab and HPC had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which Dr Essa Lab will provide concessional diagnostic facility to HPC members and their families. He also thanked Dr Essa Lab management for providing 50 percent concession to the journalists on Pathological services and hoped that journalists will take benefit of this facility.
