ISLAMABAD - The Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) has been called to meet at Parliament house on 6th December, it is learnt reliably. The PCNS would be briefed by the National Security Advisor (NSA) Dr Moeed Yousaf on 6th December at 12pm at Parliament House and it would also be briefed by the top military officials on the issues related to national security including the progress of the issue of talks with TTP by the government. Last meeting of the PCNS was called on Afghanistan on 9th November 2021 and it was briefed by Army chief and former DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hamid and other high ranking military officials. Preparation and distribution of the invitations are in progress by the committee secretariat and it would be dispatched to the members of the committee soon. The PCNS, headed by the National Assembly speaker, comprises of nominated members from both houses of the Parliament. The decision to convene the meeting has been communicated to the national security adviser and the GHQ for necessary action and preparation. NSA Dr Moeed Yousaf would also brief the meeting on latest issues concerning national security. Likewise last meeting, Officials said that this meeting would also be held in camera, however it is expected that federal ministers may share some information after the meeting in live briefing.
