OKARA - The land grabbers and encroachers will be put behind the bars very soon as per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. A major operation is underway and no one would be allowed to deprive unlawfully occupy a piece of land.
Renala Khurd Assistant Commissioner Rizwan Ashraf stated during a meeting with senior lawyers here. Ex- chairman anti-corruption (Sub-Committee) Mahar Mumtaz Ali Chaudhry, ex-Joint Secretary Chaudhry Faheem Javaid, Rao Imran Wajid and Subhu Sadiq Bhatti were also present on this occasion.
Rizwan Ashraf made it clear that encroachers and land grabbers would not be let loose. As per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, a major operation has been launched in the district under the supervision of Sahiwal Commissioner, Ashraf said.
AC Renala Khurd Rizwan Ashraf also ordered the relevant officers to take punitive action against land mafia with the help of local administration. He also directed the officials to ensure accuracy of weight machines and display of price lists at the local markets.
At least 10 FIRs under the price control act were lodged against the sugarcane mafia who without having permit were involved in purchasing sugarcane from farmers at low prices. Authorities also seized tractor trolleys loaded with sugarcanes during the operation, the assistant commissioner said.
Rizwan Ashraf said that strict action had been taken against the accused persons and their respective political backers. “Artificial price hike, overcharging, hoarding and black marketing will never be allowed and those found involved in such illegal practice would be booked as per law,” Ashraf added.
On this occasion, the lawyers lauded the efforts of the district administration for launching a massive operation against land grabbers, encroachers and profiteers.
