SWAT - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nadia Sher Khan allegedly tried to commit rigging in local bodies elections in Swat on Saturday.
As per details, PTI MPA Nadia Sher visited Mula Baba female polling station along with other females. After entering the polling station, she reportedly locked the main door of the PS and allegedly tried to commit rigging. However, female agents of other candidates informed the wrong doing of the PTI MPA to their leaders who rushed to the polling station and protested the alleged illegal act of PTI lawmaker.
Hot words were also exchanged on the occasion. A large number of people from other parties besieged the polling station. However, the PTI lawmaker allegedly managed to escape from the scene.
Newly-elected Tehsil Council Member Shaukat Ali commenting on the PTI MPA’s alleged wrongdoing said should that be called a change. He strongly condemned the act of PTI MPA and termed it shameful. He also demanded Election Commission of Pakistan to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, after conclusion of the LB polls process, unofficial and unconfirmed results from different polling stations were still awaited.
A tough contest was witnessed in the LB elections for the district Swat in which Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) was leading with one seat followed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while independent got third position.
As per preliminary consolidated results, on district council basis PML-N secured 22 seats, PTI 21, Independent candidates 11, ANP 8, JUI-F 3, PPP 1 and JI also 1 seat. In Tehsil council, PTI performed better as it got 25 seats, ANP 10, PML-N 9, JUI 7, QWP 1, PK Awami National Party 1, Independent 5 and JI 1 seat only in swat. In district Shangla, PML-N also secured 14 district council seats.
