The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a raid near Bagh-e-Korangi on a tip-off about the presence of suspected criminals.
CTD SSP Junaid Sheikh said that the criminals had resorted to indiscriminate firing at the police when the latter reached close to the hideout. “Resultantly, police also retaliated due to which one of the criminals was killed,” he said, adding, “Accomplices of the dead managed to escape under the cover of fire.” Police also claimed to have recovered weapons from his possession. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and later was shifted to the morgue in Sohrab Goth for identification.
