ISLAMABAD  -  Prime Minister Imran Khan is consulting his close aides to find a senate seat for Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, from Punjab and KP provinces. When Prime Minister Imran Khan consulted his cousin Saifullah Niazi to resign as senator from Punjab, he agreed, however, demanded important role in Punjab as compensation for leaving his Senate seat, credible sources disclosed. The sources said that the prime minister wanted to give governorship to Senator Saifullah Niazi as compensation, however, when Governor Sarwar was asked to resign he refused to step down, triggering crisis with PTI. After facing resistance, now the PM is consulting his aides from KP to get a senate seat from the province and assured that the resigning Senator would be compensated. However, no one has agreed to resign in KP as well. Ad-hoc position of Finance Minister Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin is ending next month. If he is not made part of parliament, Tarin could be reverted as adviser. According to the sources, the prime minister consulted his close aides on Thursday at the PM Office, however, no final decision could be made in this regard. The sources told The Nation that a final decision is expected in next 48 hours by the PM Office.
