Rawalpindi-Police have arrested 10 persons who along with 27 others had kidnapped a man from courtroom in Murree and also recovered the abducted person as well as vehicle from the kidnappers.

The person recovered by police was identified as Nauman Khalid.

Police on Thursday had registered a case against kidnappers under multiple sections including kidnapping and anti-terrorism charges, according to police spokesman SI Sajjad Ul Hassan.

He said Assistant Sub Inspector Raffaq Ahmed submitted a complaint that he received information that an accused, Nauman, along an abducted woman is going to appear before the court of area magistrate to record their statements under section 164 CrPC. He added the judge ordered police to summon father of abducted woman when the accused tabled an application before him for recording statement of him and the woman whom he (Nauman) had married.

ASI added Muhammad Ashfaq Abbasi, father of the woman, was called by police to attend court hearing. He mentioned Ashfaq along with 36 men stormed into courtroom and kidnapped the couple. Though police got the woman released from the clutches of kidnappers yet the kidnappers managed to abduct Nauman, the ASI said.

He appealed the SHO to register case against the accused. Taking action, police lodged case and begun investigation.
