MIRPUR (AJK)-The apex committee of Azad Govt of the State of Jammu and Kashmir met on Wednesday to discuss implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP), law and order situation and development schemes in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).

The meeting was presided over by AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider. General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 12th Division Major-General Muhammad Kaleem Asif, Chief Secretary Sultan Skandar Raja, additional chief secretary Syed Asif Shah, commissioners and DIGs of all three divisions and other high ranking officials were also present in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting Prime Minister said that war against terrorism would continue till its logical conclusion. “Better coordination between all security agencies and police has further been enhanced to ensure the implementation of the national action plan (NAP) in the region,” the prime minister said.

All illegal local cable television channels were closed, he added. The meeting highly appreciated unequivocal stance by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif condemning the Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the entire Pakistani nation, government and army are on the same page against the terrorists. He paid rich tributes to all those who sacrificed their lives in war against terrorism.

GOVT DECIDES TO REVIEW EDU POLICY: Higher Education Commission(HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed called on AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and discussed the matters pertaining to implementation of the national education policy in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Taking to the HEC chairman, the prime minister said that his government had decided to review the national education policy and a high-level review committee had been set up for the purpose.

He said in Azad Jammu Kashmir, the government has focused on the uplift of education sector to improve facilities for the students of schools and colleges harmonious to the need of the modern age.

“All available recourses are being provided for the good education facilities particularly for buildings, labs and libraries,” Farooq Haider said. AJK Minister for education Barrister Iftikhar Gillani and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
