LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board has formed an inquiry committee to evaluate the national teams performance on the tour of Australia. The committee will look into the teams poor performance and make recommendations accordingly. PCB COO Wasim Bari will head the committee. Pakistan was whitewashed in the three-match Test series 0-3 and later suffered a similar fate in the One-day series which the Aussies swept 5-0 in Perth on Sunday night. The committee includes Wazir Ali Khoja, Yawar Saeed, Haroon Rashid, Zakir Khan, Tafazzul Rizvi as its members. Pakistans performance has drawn scathing criticism from various quarters with many critics calling for sweeping changes within the PCB itself. However, Bari said that the board will conduct a postmortem of the teams performance. Our teams performance has been very disappointing which is why we have to carry out an inquiry, said Bari, a former Test wicket-keeper. However, the committee formed by the board has been rejected by some former Pakistan Test cricketers. Sarfraz Nawaz, former Test pacer, said that the board is trying to cover its own faults. He said that the inquiry committee either has the boards employees or close friends of PCB chairman Ijaz Butt. The committee should have included neutral experts and journalists. I dont believe that the board is serious in carrying out a far inquiry, said Sarfraz.
