ASPs’ delegation visits CPO

LAHORE: Acting Punjab Police Inspector General Amjad Javed Saleemi has said the police department is using all available resources to protect people’s lives and properties.  He said that several specialised units, including Dolphin Force, Police Response Units, Special Protection Unit, Anti-Riot Force, Counterterrorism Department, Special Operations Unit and Riverine Force, were established in recent years to improve police working.

The provincial police chief expressed these views while addressing a delegation of ASPs (of 44th specialised training programme) here at the central police office on Monday. Additional IG Azhar Hameed Khokhar, Muhammad Tahir, Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh and Ejaz Hussain Shah were also present on this occasion.

Punjab Additional-IG (Operations) Amir Zulfiqar Khan briefed the delegation about the police operations and administrative affairs. The officer also highlighted the overall security situation, crime rate, front desk project, homicide unit, forensic lab and terrorism related challenges. –Staff Reporter
