ISLAMABAD - Mustafa Baig, grandson of Humayon Saifullah Khan, is the rising star on the horizon of tennis in the country, as he is learning his job from Hameedul Haq, Muhammad Khalid, the current Davis Cup captain at Model Town Club, Lahore and other shining figures. While talking to TheNation on Friday, Mustafa said, "I am very lucky to be coached by legendary Hameedul Haq at Islamabad Margalla Club. I have been in the capital during my vocations. I will be later with Muhammad Khalid who is coaching me at Model Town Club in Lahore." The 13-year-old Mustafa, an eighth class student at a Lahore based school, uses his spare time in playing and learning tennis. It is his passion, as his grandparents and uncles are still playing this game. Mustafa said he watched them playing and since then he decided to become a top professional tennis player. "My father Umar Baig and my mother, both, support me a great deal and with their active involvement and guidance I have improved my game a lot." It is worth mentioning here that Mustafa's grandfather Anwer Saifullah Khan and Salim Saifullah Khan were himself great tennis players of their time and his grandmother was the national champion. Mustaf said "I have been so impressed with Nadal and I wanted to be a true champion like him and not only represent my country in the international tournaments but also win trophies over there and keep my country's flag atop in the world." Mustafa is also a diehard fan of Pakistan tennis ace Aisamul Haq. He said: "Whenever Aisam is in Pakistan he goes to meet him and take tips from him. Aisam is a true ambassador of country and he really feels honour to meet him. Aisam has always been helpful to not only him but to the other youngsters too." MOHSIN ALI
