KARACHI - Three men were arrested for raping a 14-year-old near the Karachi airport, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the survivor’s father, two suspects broke into their house around noon on May 25 and raped the teenager while their accomplice waited outside.

“I was at work when the crime took place,” he told the police, adding that the teenager was babysitting her younger siblings.

The suspects, identified as Noman, Zaheer and Zain, lived in the 14-year-old’s neighbourhood. An FIR has been registered under sections 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint), 376 (Punishment for rape), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The police have begun questioning the suspects. Their DNA samples, too, will be taken soon.

Police arrest accused within 24 hours who killed girl

Karachi police on Thursday arrested an accused who killed a girl in Qayoomabad area of the city.

According to police, Zaman Town police arrested the culprit Hassan who shot dead a 22-year-old girl Aneeta near Masih Graveyard a day ago. The police said that girl was killed by her neighbour Hassan over failure in love.

The police said that Hassan had called the girl to discuss the matter where he opened fire at her. The accused confessed to killing Aneeta and said during the interrogation that they were in relation for a long time.

Police arrest drug dealers after their video of selling drugs goes viral

Chakiwara police station on Tuesday arrested two drug peddlers after their videos of selling drugs in Lyari area went viral over social media. 

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) City Sarfraz Nawaz said that the arrested drug pushers identified as Ismail s/o Ibrahim and Jaffar s/o Allah Bakhsh. They were arrested after a video made rounds over social media in which the accused were seen selling drugs near a school located in Lyari. 

Station House Officer (SHO) Chakiwara, while conducting operations near Singo Lane Bright School and Wali Muhammad Road Bright School Lyari, arrested the drug dealers with 2,040 grams of hashish from their possession.

Arrested accused were involved in drug supply to different parts of the megalopolis. The initial interrogation revealed that the accused were the members of a drug cartel being operated from a neighbouring country. 

SSP City Sarfraz Nawaz further informed that the arrested suspects were systematically supplying drugs to different areas of the city. 

During interrogation, the suspects revealed that their drug trafficking network was spread across the city and the network was being operated from Iran, said the SSP City.

They used to buy drugs from the brother of Zohaib alias Mirchi and sell them in different areas the city including Lyari.

Accused Zohaib alias Mirchi was absconding and was the brother of Bahadur alias PMT who was running a network to smuggle drugs from the neighbouring country to Pakistan and  supplied them to different cities, said the SSP City Sarfraz Nawaz.

The arrested accused were being questioned about accused Bahadur alias PMT, Zohaib alias Mirchi and other members of the network and drug dens.
