Rawalpindi - Malik Abrar Ahmed, MNA of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), has said that the spread of dengue cannot be controlled without public support and it is moral and social responsibility of every citizen to adopt precautionary measures and keep their houses and surrounding areas clean and dry.
He expressed these views while addressing Dengue Awareness Jirga arranged here at Gwalmandi area on Wednesday. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajad Zafar Daal, MPA Tehseen Fawad, PML-N leader Sardar Nasim, Pakistan Green Task Force Chairman Dr Jamal Nasir, Haji Pervez and others were also present on the occasion.
Malik Abrar Ahmed said there was no need to get afraid of dengue, adding, “We should only adopt preventive measures.” He said if anybody suffered from dengue fever, he/she should reach government hospitals because treatment facilities were available there.
DCO Sajid Zafar Dall said that Gwalmandi was a sensitive area for dengue spread; therefore, residents of this area should adopt preventive measures.
Mosquito repellent lotion and awareness pamphlets were distributed among participants at the end of the jirga.
