Parvez felicitates Chinese leadership, people on National day

LAHORE    -    Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi Saturday felicitated the Chinese leadership and their people on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China.

The CM stated that the Punjab government express its good wishes to the Chinese leadership and their people on their National Day. He said that the Chinese leadership attained the destination of progress by hard work and determination. “China is a role model for doing away with corruption for the developing countries and moving forward their people towards prosperity by getting them out of poverty,” the CM added.  

The CM stated that China is the most trustworthy friend of Pakistan, and the Pak-China friendship is an example of its own in the whole world. He lauded that China always stood with Pakistan in every time of distress and difficulty. Pakistan and China hold a unanimous view with regard to international affairs, peace loving and mutual respect. The CM stated that he holds in high esteem the Pak-China invincible friendship and the strategic partnership.

Delegation presents Rs5m cheque to CM Fund

A delegation of overseas Pakistanis met Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at Chief Minister’s Office in which the office-bearers of PML-Q (New York) presented a cheque of Rs5 million for the CM Flood Relief Fund.  

Talking on this occasion, the CM said that every single penny being deposited in the fund would be spent on the welfare of flood affectees as a foolproof system had been chalked out to carry out proper monitoring of the fund.

He said that the heirs of the deceased during the flood had been given financial aid amounting to Rs one million each and the government was also providing financial aid over the loss of a house and the livestock. The CM appreciated the philanthropists for their help to the flood-affected people and lauded the overseas Pakistanis who generously helped the flood victims. He said that a comprehensive strategy had been formulated to redress the complaints of the overseas Pakistanis.

CM seeks report

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has taken notice of an incident for murdering three women by setting them on fire in Rahim Yar Khan and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police. The CM directed to ensure early provision of justice to the heirs of the deceased women. 

Meanwhile, the police, after registering a case had arrested two accused.
