KARACHI - At least two terrorists, belonging to a banned organisation, were shot dead during an encounter with law enforcement agencies here in Tessar town area of Karachi, police sources said on Saturday.
Police sources said that four policemen were also wounded during the intelligence based operation launched jointly by police and counterterrorism officials in the residential locality. DIG Counterterrorism Department Asif Ejaz Shaikh told reporters that the injured police personnel were shifted to a hospital where condition of two of the victims was said to be serious. The officer said the police faced stiff resistance as the gun battle continued for several hours. Further investigation was underway.
