Jennifer remembers Gabriel in emotional social media tribute

CM LOS ANGELES - Jennifer Lopez remembered Mexican singer songwriter Juan Gabriel in a heartfelt Instagram post following his death on Sunday aged 66.

The music world is currently mourning the sudden passing of the musician who reportedly suffered a heart attack during the US leg of his MeXXico Es Todo Tour. Musician Marc Anthony, who was married to Jennifer for just over seven years, broke down on stage during an emotional tribute to Juan at a gig on Sunday, and now his ex-wife has shared her own message to Juan.

Alongside a photo of the crooner taken during his youth, Jennifer, 47, wrote a long message in Spanish. “Watching this great artist #juangabriel’s concert I attended in Vegas a few years ago... I remember feeling that besides his marvelous talent, what touched me was that his spirit was so generous and that he had a love and grace that was incomparable,” she wrote, as translated by E! News.

“I love you and thank you for all that you’ve given us through your music and life! We’re going to miss you a lot, legend! #PleaseForgiveMySpanish #SorryIfIMessedUptheSpanish #fromtheheart.” Marc, also 47, shared a similar sentiment on his Instagram account earlier in the week following his emotional performance. In Spanish, he told fans how the world of Latin music has lost “a giant, an icon, and a legend”, and shared how grateful he was to Juan for inspiring him to become a singer songwriter.
