The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned 24 parliamentarians holding fake degrees on Friday.
The former parliamentarians summoned to Election Commission include, Umar Gorgaij, Shumaila Rana, Samina Khawar, Wasim Afzal Gondal, Seemal Kamran, Gul Muhammad Lot, Nawabzada Tariq Magsi, Saeed Ameer Ali Shah, Ghulam Sarwar Siyal, Dr Israr Hussain, Mukesh Kumar, Pitambar Sehwani, Shujaat Ahmed, Nadir Magsi, Rehan Yahya Baloch and Israr Ullah Zehri.
These prominent politicians have been accused of possessing fake academic record.
The fake degree holders have been summoned after directives from the Supreme Court to inform the court in the next hearing on what basis the fake degree cases were closed and resolve the issue , an ECP official said.
