Two terrorists arrested in Peshawar

PESHAWAR - Police on Tuesday arrested two alleged terrorists in two separate crackdowns and seized hand grenades, detonators, pressure cookers bomb, batteries and pistols from their possession.

The Capital City Police Chief, Mubarik Zeb received a tip-off information regarding the presence of alleged target killers Safirullah and Ismael in Qazi Kalay and Yakatoot area.

The first crackdown was launched in Qazi Kalay jurisdiction of Faqirabad police station when the accused person started firing at raiding police party, however, in exchange of firing the accused Safirullah was arrested while his another accomplices escaped from the scene.

Police also recovered two improvised explosive device, one pressure cooker bomb of 17 kilogram, four hand grenade, 30 pistols, dozens of cartridges and one motorbike, the accused in initial investigation told police that he belonged to Amir Hafiz group.

Likewise SHO Yakatoot police station along with his team arrested target killer Ismael during search operation and seized motorcycle, two hand grenades, 9mm pistols. The arrested target killed belonged to Lashkar-e-Islam group of Tehreek-e-Taliban group.
