RAWALPINDI - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Nasir Khan Durrani paid a surprise visit to Police Station Airport and inspected the lock-up and record here on Tuesday. DIG Nasir Khan Durrani placed Station House Officer (SHO) and eight Sub Inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors under suspension on account of poor working and increasing crimes in the area. The RPO during his visit to the police station reviewed the performance of officers. It was observed that during one-month period 16 incidents of robbery took place in the jurisdiction and no efforts were made to control this increasing trend. Therefore, ten officers having poor performance were placed under suspension and transferred to Police Lines. These included SI Ghulam Mustafa, SI Ghularn Muhammad, SI Pervaiz Iqbal, SI Muhammad Hussain, SI Farrukh Rasheed. , ASI Khalid Mehmood, ASI Tahir Mehmood and ASI Muhammad Aslam. The RPO also directed CPO to post some experienced and effective SHO to this highly sensitive police station and also post other officers against the officers transferred. He also directed SSP (Operation) to review the performance of all officers after every fortnight and those found inefficient be transferred out of field assignments.
