ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) during a general search operation conducted on Saturday to enhance security of the capital arrested around 130 suspects from various areas of the capital who failed to produce any document for their identification to the police.Ramna, Shalimar and Golra police stations have arrested these suspects from their respective areas. On the directions of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, team of Ramna, Shalimar and Golra police stations headed by sub-divisional police stations (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) concerned conducted search in their respective areas against the elements involved in unlawful activities. The search operation was conducted in various localities including slum areas, Afghan habitats, under construction buildings, houses; hotel and the arrested the suspects failed to produce any document for their identification.The IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq have directed the police to expand the search operation in other areas of city and asked to ensure strict monitoring and vigilance of suspected elements. The police have also taken around 60 motorcycles into its custody as their owners failed to produce the documents. The IGP said that the purpose of initiating search operation in various areas of the city was to ensure foolproof security in the capital.Meanwhile, the capital police here on Saturday claimed to apprehend 13 accused of heinous crimes including liquor business, drug pushing and recovered 2.2 kg charas, 87 bottles of liquor and eight pistols with 80 rounds.A spokesman of the police said that thorough investigations had been launched against the accused besides registering separate cases against the apprehended accused.According to details, Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has directed SSP Islamabad Yasin Farooq to tighten security at entry and exit points of the city. Sub-inspector (SI) Tarnol Police Station Yar Mohammad has recovered 2.2 kg chars from the possession of an accused Misaal Khan. Similarly assistant sun-inspector (ASI) Ali Asghar has arrested an accused Mobeen Khan, recovering 2 pistols of 30 bore including 50 rounds.Likewise, ASI Nadeem Tahir of Police Station Kohsar has arrested two accused Chaudhry Mohammad Siddique and Sunil Khal and recovered 42 bottles of liquor from their possession.Sub-inspector Police Station Bhara Kahu Shaukat Ali and ASI Mohammad Nawaz have arrested two accused namely Nasir Masih and Sajawal during patrolling and recovered 45 bottles of liquor from their possession. Sub-inspector Ramna Police Station Mohammad Khan has recovered 110 gram heroin from an accused Sudhir. SI of Golra Police Station, Mohammad Tehsin has recovered a 30  bore pistol with two rounds. Sub-inspector of Police Station Shahzad Town Mohammad Ashraf as well as ASIs Mohammad Sarwar and Qasim Zia have arrested Intizar Khan, Sher Azam Mohammad Tashfeen and Yasir and recovered four pistols including 20 rounds from them.ASI of Police Station Sihala Mohammad Aurangzeb arrested Arshad Khan and recovered 32 bore revolver and three rounds and started investigation after registering separate cases against themInspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan and SSP Yasin Farooq have lauded the good performance and strict vigilance of police officers and jawans. SSP has directed the SHOs to enhance patrolling and tighten security ant entry and exit points so that the crimes ratio might be curtailed significantly.
