PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar has described the formation of a new provinces commission prior to the elections as a “political drama.”
He was addressing the media after the inaugural ceremony of blood bank and laboratory at Data Darbar hospital in Lahore on Sunday.
Dar said, “If the government presents a constitutional bill pertaining to the formation of new provinces, so will the PML-N.”
Ishaq said that the government will not be able to get two-third majority to pass the bill over the formation of new provinces.
Dar said the commitment to Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran chief Tahirul Qadri was not his party’s issue and the decision regarding the caretaker prime minister will be made by the prime minister and opposition leader. "If the prime minister and opposition leader fail to reach an agreement, the matter will be sent to the committee and if the committee cannot decide, the matter will be sent to the Election Commission."
He slammed Tahirul Qadri for demanding dissolution of election commission.
He added that six weeks were left to make a decision on the caretaker setup. “Everything will be clear after the dissolution of assemblies.”
Dar added that if an honest government was elected the situation in the country would drastically improve. According to Dar, Nawaz Sharif would soon announce the agenda of the PML-N, stating that dividing the country on basis of ethnicity was not the correct step.
