Railways to operate three special trains on Eid

LAHORE     -    The Pakistan Railways will operate three special trains on Eidul Azha holidays to facilitate the people.


The railway sources on Saturday said that the first special train would be operated from Quetta to Peshawar on July 8 at 10:00am through Multan, Sahiwal and Lahore. The second train would leave Karachi for Lahore through Multan and Faisalabad on July 8 at 6:45pm. The third special train would run on July 11 from Lahore to Karachi at 11:30 am through Faisalabad and Multan.


Meanwhile, Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique has directed the Pakistan Railways administration to ensure provision of wagons for transportation of coal from Afghanistan. Presiding over a meeting at the Railway headquarters here on Saturday, he reviewed different matters related to the Railway revenue and transportation of coal from Afghanistan.


It was decided that transportation stations would be set up at Sibbi, Kundian and Khushhaal Kot.


The government has decided to import coal from Afghanistan for the coal-fired power plants due to price hike of the petroleum products. The Railways secretary, chief executive officer and other officers attended the meeting.
