MUMBAI - Intikhab Alam, manager of Pakistan team, is not disturbed on being labelled as a 'hypocrite by Shahid Afridi. Alam remained calm and cool when approached for his comments in London. Hypocrite originally meant an actor in a Greek drama who wore a mask as a character in a play but who was a different person in real life. Intikhab Alam has been an advisor to many players during his several stints with the team as a manager and a coach. I dont want to say anything on his comments, he said. Intikhab Alam also preferred to keep mum over his so-called report, which has made Afridis career miserable. I want to be loyal to my employer (Pakistan Cricket Board) and dont want to beach the trust by disclosing the fact of the report, he added. However, his only one-page sensitive report (detailing Afridis spat with Coach Waqar Younis) which he filed during the series in West Indies has angered the top PCB boss. He spoke to the PCB officials on several occasions even after sending his report. The report only detailed about Afridis attitude on Windies tour, the source in the PCB said to this scribe. Afridi was removed from the captaincy after several discussions the PCB chief had with Alam. Intikhab Alam will submit another detailed report about the Windies tour on his return from England. The team went to Ireland directly from West Indies. He is to stay in UK for one more week before returning to Pakistan. Alam will spend few days with his son (working as a consultant with a financial company) in UK, the source further added.
