Class 10th student killed over refusal to illicit relations

GUJRANWALA/HAFIZABAD/LODHRAN/SARGODHA/FAISALABAD-Nine persons including a woman and girl were killed in various incidents of honour killing, enmity and road accidents in different areas on Monday.

In Hafizabad, a married woman was shot dead in village Khuttay Shah by her brother as she had returned to her parents house after a quarrel with her husband and her in-laws.

According to police source, Itrat Batool was married off Sadi Ahmad few months ago but she allegedly developed illicit relations with another man. She quarrelled with her husband and in-laws and settled with her parents. Her brother Nazar Muhammad got suspicious of her character and advised her to return to her husband but she paid a deaf ear to his advice. Consequently, Nazar allegedly opened fire and killed her on the spot.

The police have registered a case against the accused who managed his escape after committing the offence.

In Gujranwala, two persons died and two others injured in crossfire between two groups here at Naroki-Sheikhupura Road on Monday. The police said that some buffalos of Arrain group entered the fields of Othi group which caused this bloody clash. At first, armed men of both the groups exchanged hot words and then opened fire on each other. Resultantly, Tanvir and Farooq died on the spot while Saqib and Chand received bullet injuries and were rushed to DHQ Hospital Gujranwala. The police have started investigation. In Lodhran, two motorcyclists were crushed to death by a speeding bus here on Monday.

Police said that a speeding passenger bus knocked down a motorcycle, carrying two persons on Basti Malook Road in Lodhran.  As a result, both the bike riders died on the spot and the bus driver managed to escape from the scene.

The bodies were shifted to hospital for post-mortem and the police have registered a case against the fleeing bus driver. In Sargodha, two persons died in collision between a car and truck here on Monday morning.

Police said that a speeding goods-laden truck hit a private car on Faisalabad-Sargodha Road.

Resultantly, two persons in the car died instantly.

The truck driver fled the scene while the dead bodies were shifted to hospital from where they were handed over to the heirs after post-mortem.

In Faisalabad, a class 10th girl student was allegedly gunned down by her classmate over her refusal to develop illicit relation with him in Rachna Town area.

The police said Shahzaib, a resident of Rachna Town, allegedly teased and harassed his 10th grade classmate, Arfa, a resident of the same locality. The police said that he allegedly forced her to illicit relations but she refused. At which he broke into her house and opened fire on her. Two bullets hit her in the head and she died on the spot. The body shifted was to DHQ Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The police have registered a case.

In Pakpattan, a pitiless youth gunned down his grandfather over property dispute in Chak 85-D, here on Monday.

The police said that Saeed exchanged hot words with his grandfather Shah Hamid over share in inherited property after which he opened fire killing his grandfather on the spot.  The body was shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities and the police have registered a case against the murderer.
