Mardan admin announces relaxation in lockdown

Mardan - The district administration here on Sunday announced to relax the one-week complete lockdown imposed in the district on 26 April when the ratio of corona positive cases reached 50.  

It was decided in a high-level meeting held at commissioner office. Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Yahya Akhunzada, Home Secretary, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers Zahir Shah Toru, Iftikhar Mashwani, Tufail Anjum, Commissioner Mardan Division Muntazir Khan, Regional Police Officer (RPO), deputy commissioner Habibullah Arif, District Police Officer (DPO) Zahidullah and other health official attended the meeting. 

Briefing the media after the meeting, PTI lawmaker Zahir Shah Toru said that during a high-level meeting on April 25 great concern was shown over speedy spread of COVID-19 in Mardan district and complete lockdown was imposed till May 3.   He said that complete lockdown decision was taken when the corona positive cases reached 52% which was the highest record in the country. Zahir Shah said that due to successful lockdown the ratio of positive cases had decreased in the district.   

Zahir Shah said that the health officers informed the meeting that the ratio of COVID-19 patients had now decreased to 27 percent in the district. He said the meeting decided to show relaxation in lockdown areas for the business activities for the upcoming Eid.  He said the administration has decided that social and economic activities would continue in the district till May 8. Zahir Shah said that corona SOPs would be strictly followed. He said anyone who violated SOPs would be sent to jail for 15 days.  

Zahir Shah said that traders and shopkeepers would also ensure to strictly follow the SOPs otherwise their shops would be sealed.

te with the district administration and follow the SOPs and use face mask while visiting bazaar for shopping.
