Two laborers die as under construction building collapses in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD - Two labourers died as an under construction building collapsed here on Sunday. According to details, roof of an under construction building located in Gatwala suddenly came down when labourers were engaged in routine work. Two labourers identified as Hamayun and Adnan was trapped under the rubble and died before they could be rescued.  The bodies were later pulled out from the debris and shifted to hospital where they were handed over to heirs after legal formalities. Police said that the building collapse resulted due to poor construction and investigation was underway. Meanwhile, A youth was killed after a bus hit his motorcycle, in the limits of Mansoorabad police station. Rescue-1122 said on Sunday that 20-year-old Abdul Jabbar, resident of Khurarianwala was riding a motorcycle when a rashly driven bus hit his two-wheeler near Mannanwala 80-Muraba Stop on Sheikhupura Road.

 

 He died on the spot. Police were investigating.

Old enmity claims farmer’s life

A young farmer was allegedly tortured to death by his rivals in the area of Sadar Jaranwala police station. 

Police spokesman said on Sunday that Arif Nawab resident of Chak No.63-GB got missing from his house one day ago and his body was recovered from a place outside the locality. 

The police was suspicious that he was killed by his rivals to avenge an old enmity. 

The body was shifted to mortuary for postmortem while further investigation was under progress, spokesman added.

Wheat smuggling bid foiled

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Jaranwala has foiled a wheat smuggling bid and seized 500 bags in Jaranwala. 

A spokesman of local administration said on Sunday that AC Jaranwala Zainul Abideen along with his team conducted raid at Adda Hammadka and seized 500 bags of wheat loaded on trucks and trolleys. The AC Jaranwala shifted these wheat bags to wheat procurement centers of Buchiana and Rodala Road, spokesman added.
