Lahore - Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Monday announced that the health card initiative of the PTI government would continue in Punjab.
While presiding over a meeting which reviewed steps for providing quality medical facilities to the common man, the chief minister said that the health card would continue on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He directed the authorities concerned to ensure the provision of healthcare facilities without any delay, adding that the visitors should be properly taken care of at public hospitals.
The CM further directed that a comprehensive plan be devised so that the patients might not face any difficulty in getting free medicines from the hospitals.
The CM announced to fill the vacant technical cadre posts of hospitals and ordered them to take necessary steps without any delay. Similarly, a plan be devised to functionalise dysfunctional medical equipment, he stressed.
He further directed to ensure implementation of anti-dengue SOPs in letter and spirit. The anti-dengue teams should be fully activated, he stated and emphasised that the medicines’ procurement should be timely completed. The medical facilities and human resources of hospitals should also be regularly checked and a report should be devised as well, he added.

CM for coordinated mechanism to ensure better water supply in Walled City
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has taken notice of the water shortage in the Walled City and certain areas of the provincial metropolis and directed WASA to take emergent steps.
A coordinated mechanism should be devised in such areas and generators should also be arranged to operate the tube wells.
While presiding over a meeting at his office on Monday, the CM directed that an action plan should be devised to clean all the nullahs of the city before monsoon season. Teams should be constituted at the level of union councils and the cleanliness work should be visible, he said. “A union council level water drainage mechanism be devised and I will not entertain any lame excuse in monsoon season,” the CM warned.
The WASA MD would give a detailed briefing after Eid along with videos.
