NAWABSHAH - At least seven persons were killed in a car accident that occurred near National Highway of Qazi Ahmad area, NawabShah.

Police sources reported on Monday, a car carrying few persons of a family was passing through National Highway of Qazi Ahmad area when it fell into a deep canal. As a result, seven persons including three women and three children died on the spot. As per initial reports, the ill-fated vehicle caught fire after falling into the canal. The Rescue team retrieved the burnt bodies after hectic efforts. Further investigations are underway.

According to rescue sources, the family of Slongi community in a car was going to village Khahi Machhi near Moro from Hyderabad when it fell in the dry minor near Nawabshah and Qazi Ahmed following which a fire broke out in the vehicle resulting in death of seven people including three children, three women and a man, all belonging to Solangi caste.

The rescue operation started right after the accident and emergency was declared in the Qazi Ahmad Hospital but all the passengers had lost their lives during the operation, the rescue officials told. The dead bodies were shifted to the Qazi Ahmad Hospial.

Three killed in Hyderabad road mishap

Three persons were killed and several others were injured in a collision between a truck and a passenger van on Tando Muhammd Khan Road in Hyderabad on Monday. According to rescue sources, a truck collided with a van on Tando Muhammd Khan Road in Hyderabad, killing three persons and injuring several others.

The bodies and the injured were shifted to a Tando Muhammad Khan Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot. The police have impounded the truck and started further probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the District Larkana to avert any untoward incident especially on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. SSP Larkana Sarfaraz Nawaz Shaikh has taken strict security measures in the district.

Patrolling has been intensified and police personnel have been deployed at entry and exit points of the towns and cities, main chowks roads, markets, bazaars, shopping centres, sensitive areas to avert any untoward incident. Meanwhile, reports said that SSP Kamber-Shahdadkot @ Kamber Bashir Ahmed Brohi has also been made strict security arrangements in the district Kamber – Shahdadkot and deployed the policemen at sensitive areas of the District, towns and chowks and entry and exit points of the cities.
