ISLAMABAD-Launching ceremony of the book titled “Photohar: Khita e dil ruba” written by the renowned educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will be held today (Monday) in AIOU academic complex at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be Chaired by Prof Fateh Muhammad Malik while the chief guest of the event will be Iftikhar Arif. The country’s renowned journalist and columnist, Rauf Klasra has been invited as a Guest of Honor. Prof Shahid Siddiqui, in his new book, had gathered his memories about Photohar and Rawalpindi City and had renewed the memory of these street coaches and places.  This book gives the new generation full information about Photohar’s history, language, fair place and mortgage. In the city of Rawalpindi, Marri Gassan, Lal Kurti, Dheri Hassanabad, Goalmandi, Liaquat Bagh, Gordon College, Lal Haveli and Haveli Sojan Singh, Bank Road and Rawalpindi city’s Cinemas, about which Shahid Siddiqui has his own memories. It is written that people whose childhood has passed in these places and now they have migrated somewhere else, they need to read this book written by Shahid Siddiqui, which will return their childhood memories.  In this book, Shahid Siddiqui has also written in detail about Taxila and Khewra’s salt mines.
