PPP to continue struggle for sustainable democracy: Minister

PESHAWAR – Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan said on Sunday Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will continue its struggle for sustainable democracy and socio-economic emancipation of downtrodden, and underscored the need for political tolerance and maturity to steer the country out of existing challenges.
Addressing party workers here at his residence, the Minister said PPP has a long history of struggle and sacrifices for democracy and will continue to strive for strengthening of democratic system in the country, as it was the only way forward. He said PPP founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and daughter of the East,  Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had laid down their lives but never compromise on principles, democracy and rights of masses, adding Bhuttos lived for people and died for them.
Dr Alamgir Khan said the struggle and sacrifices of Pakistan Peoples Party’s leadership had created political sense and wisdom among people and political forces as before the leadership of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a common man in our country had nothing to do with politics.
Dr Alamgir Khan said the government has revived the Constitution 1973 in its original form and giving identity to Pakthuns that were one of the major achievements of PPP. He said democratic culture was getting its roots in Pakistan and underscored the need for political tolerance for introducing true democratic traditions in the country.
The Federal Minister for Communication said that he would continue efforts for solution of problems faced by people and workers of his constituency.  He said workers are real assets for PPP and their problems are being addressed on priority basis and is trying his level best to meet on peoples’ expectations.
He said popularity graph of PPP has increased manifolds among masses referring to Multan by-election that was easily won by PPP MNA Abdul Qadir Gilani. The Minister urged party workers to inform masses about achievements made by PPP during last four years.
The Federal Minister said peoples’ would re-elect PPP candidates in the upcoming general election for continuity of democracy, solution of their problems and completion of ongoing projects. He said future is the PPP as it the only political party that had steered the country out of crisis and put Pakistan on road to progress and development. He said his door was open for all and his politics revolves around masses and humanity.
The Minister said record development projects have been completed in NA-2 Peshawar with special focus on communication, water and sanitation, construction of roads, installation of electricity transformers and provision of gas and education schemes.
