LAHORE: Two mechanics were killed when a rashly-driven car ran over them in Johar Town police precincts yesterday.

Police sources said the accident took place near Shadewall Chowk in Johar Town where a drunk driver hit two men as he lost his control over the car. The victims identified as Badar and Faizan were sleeping outside a tyre-shop adjacent to a petrol pump when a recklessly-driven car ran over them. As a result, they sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot.

The car driver named by police as Yousaf also sustained minor injuries. Police reached the spot soon after the accident and arrested the driver. A criminal case was lodged against the driver. The police handed over the bodies to the families. Further investigations were underway.–Staff Reporter
