Lawyers condemn Mardan attack

Islamabad-Legal fraternity of the federal capital yesterday strongly condemned the brutal act of terrorism in Mardan by expressing their deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident.

Talking to The Nation, media coordinator of Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) Chaudhary Khalid Advocate said that the lawyers of Islamabad deeply mourn the sad incidents in which a suicide bomber targeted a court complex and killed 12 people and injured 54 others.

He prayed that Allah almighty may rest their souls in eternal peace and grant fortitude and courage to the bereaved families of all the victims to bear this irreparable loss.

While strongly condemning the suicide attack, Chaudhary Khalid asked the rulers for how long, the blood of lawyers’ community will be shed.

He castigated the government for not taking appropriate measures for the security of lawyers and said that the government should be ashamed for not providing adequate security to court premises.

Expressing solidarity with the victim families, he said, “We are with the martyrs and their families.” He demanded of the government to bring the perpetrators to justice.
