PBIT holds Pak-Turkey business roundtable event

LAHORE (PR) - A Pakistan-Turkey business roundtable event was held here at a local hotel the other evening.

The event was organised by Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) to follow up on the recent and very fruitful visit of Chief Minister Punjab to Turkey, with top Turkish diplomats and business leaders in attendance, including Ambassador of Turkey Sadik Girgin as well as Pakistan-Turkey Business Council president Atilla Yerlikaya.

Punjab minister for industries, Ch Muhammad Shafique was the chief guest while Khawaja Ahmad Hassan, Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab, was the guest of honour. During the event, Turkey’s new Consul General for Lahore Serdar Daniz was officially introduced to the business community for the very first time. Amena Cheema, CEO Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, also spoke on the occasion.

"Throughout the history, Pakistan and Turkey have lent support to each other through the most difficult times. The goodwill and friendship of the Turkish people towards Pakistan as recently underscored by the unprecedented welcome accorded to Chief Minister Punjab during his recent visit to Turkey,” said the Minister of Industries. These sentiments were echoed by Ambassador Girgin, who expressed his appreciation for the leadership provided by the Chief Minister Punjab in forging even stronger ties between Turkey and Pakistan.

On the occasion, CEO PBIT pledged that PRIT would continue to play a leading role in facilitating investment from Turkey.
