Chaudhary Nisar Ali, in a press conference today said that the suicide bombers that attacked Peshawars Christian Colony were foreigners, but their countries of origin are yet to be ascertained.
The Interior Minister further stated “We had intelligence reports concerning possible terrorist attacks in three to four areas of Peshawar” and went on to say “while security have been victorious in eliminating the majority of terrorists, terrorism has not been fully eradicated from the country”
He added that the attacks are much less frequent than they were before.
Chaudary Nisars statement comes in response to the two terrorists attacks in Peshawar and Mardaan yesterday resulting in 14 deaths and 52 injured. The attacks took place barely a day after DG ISPR Asim Bajwa, in a press conference, gave a detailed rundown of the success of Zarb-e-Azb operation that was aimed at exterminating terrorism from the country.
The minister also admitted that the security situation is not completely under control as of yet and that those financing terrorism in the country are yet to be dealt with.
