SAHIWAL - The district administration sealed two drama theatres on the complaints of nude dances and vulgarity.
Before ‘Eidul Azha, the permission of stage dramas was granted to the two theatres of Sahiwal namely Friends Theater and Jinnah Hall for the recreational purpose. On the complaints of nudity and vulgarity by the public, DCO Shoukat Ali Khichi has cancelled the permission and sealed the theatres.
However, Mian Attique, the resident director of Sahiwal Arts Council, came to Sahiwal Division Commissioner Babar Hayat Tarar and complained that both theatres were sealed, saying that the DCO has misused his authority. However, the commissioner did not reply to the director. Even then, he tried to open both the theatres but police foiled the bid.
