Truckers lodge ticket complaint with CCPO

LAHORE A 10-member delegation of All Pakistan Truck Association met with Capital City Police Officer Ahmad Raza Tahir here on Wednesday and complained to him that traffic wardens were issuing unnecessary tickets and imposing penalties on drivers. The delegation was headed by the association President Haji Javed Butt while Chief Traffic Officer Ahmad Mobin and SSP Admin Tariq Abbas Qurashi were also present on the occasion. The CCPO directed the traffic police to issue the challans only in case of serious violation of traffic rules. He said that main duty of traffic wardens was not to increase the number of challans but to provide service and assistance to the people. The CCPO also directed the traffic wardens to apprise citizens about traffic discipline and rules and treat them with extreme politeness and civility. Ahmad Raza Tahir assured the members of delegation that their all their legitimate complaints would be considered sympathetically. Meanwhile, Ahmad Raza Tahir has directed the police to speed up the process of submitting challans of heinous crimes to relevant courts besides ensuring merit-based investigations of all cases.
