Pakistani weight-lifter Nooh Dastagir Butt won a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Wednesday.

Nooh Dastagir competed in Men's 109+ kg. Nooh was sensational as he set a record in Commonwealth Games in his category, lifting 170 Kg in his first snatch.

The 24-year-old lifted 173 kg in snatch, while in Clean and Jerk, he lifted 232 kg, totaling 405 kg, to win gold for Pakistan. It should be mentioned here that Nooh had secured a bronze medal for Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2018.

Earlier, Hanzala Dastagir participated in Men's 109 kg, but he secured the ninth position and was unable to win a medal for Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Fahad Khawaja won his first two group matches in Men's Singles Table Tennis.

Khawaja was up against Guyana's Christopher Franklin and completely dominated his opponent. The Pakistani player won the match by 5-11, 9-11, 7-11, and 6-11.

In his second group match, the 22-year-old beat Bangladesh's Mohutasin Ahmed Ridoy. The Bangladeshi player won the first set by 11-9, but Fahad made a comeback, winning the second and third sets by 5-11 and 2-11, respectively.

However, Ridoy made the Pakistani player work for the win and the fourth set was a nail-biting contest, but Fahad managed to win by 15-17. And, in the last set, Fahad dominated Ridoy again and ended the fifth set with 5-11.
