Special children deserve special attention of all

HAFIZABAD - International Day of Disabled was observed here in the city on Saturday. In this connection, Special Education Centre and Slow Learners Centre (ECSLC) organised a walk, which was participated by students of the centres, teachers and Headmistress Afshan Khalid and Hafizabad Press Club Vice Chairman Muhammad Yaqoob Shahzad Amar. The walk started from the Centres building and ended at District Complex. DCO Capt (r) Muhammad Asif, while addressing gathering, said that special children deserve special attention of the parents, teachers and members of the civil society so as to remove sense of deprivation among them and to make them useful citizens, they should be encouraged at all levels. He said that members of civil society should take attention to make good citizens. However, he said the government on its part was providing all sorts of facilities to the special children at the centres set up in Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian where besides pick and drop facilities, milk, uniform and books were being provided to them free of costs. He urged the parents of special children to get such children enrolled in the centre to make them useful citizens. Shopkeepers caught selling fertilizer on black market: The Special Price Magistrate Allah Ditta Warraich raided different places and caught Muzaffar Ali, Almas Safdar, Khalid, Laiqat Ali and Qazi Ikhlaq red handed for selling fertilizers on black market. He imposed total fine of Rs40,500 on the defaulters. He also arrested Khizar Hayat of Mohallah Bahawalpura on the charge of getting extortion money in the locality. Islam teaches peace, tolerance: Islam teaches us love, affection, tolerance, forbearance and Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen Committee (IBMC) Hafizabad would strive to maintain peaceful and congenial atmosphere in the district during Ashure. This was stated by District Committee Member Syed Mubashar Hasnain Zaidi. He urged the religious scholars of different schools of thoughts not to utter a single word which might injure the sentiments of other sects for ensuring traditional peace in the area.
