AJK minister warns against grabbing expats’ land

MUZAFFARABAD - Parliamentary leader of MQM in AJK Legislative Assembly and Transport Minister Tahir Khokhar has said the assets belong to overseas Kashmiris must not be grabbed and the land mafia should return the control of the lands of overseas Kashmiris voluntarily.
To protect the property and investments of the overseas Kashmiris, soon consultation will be started to formulate laws. He stressed that the Administration must take prompt and serious action against the land mafia. He expressed these views while speaking to a delegation of Kashmiri community residing in UK.
He added that the overseas citizens were the ambassadors of the home country. They played a major role in highlighting the Kashmir issue. He stressed that the overseas citizens of Pakistan and Kashmir must play their active role for the resolution of Kashmir issue. He said that the AJK govt was taking revolutionary steps to resolve the issue of overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris for which special desks were being established at different places. The overseas citizens of the country contribute a lot to the national economy. Their issues will be resolved on priority basis, the overseas citizens of the state always extend their support in hours of need and we will also not leave them alone.
He said the land mafia and bureaucracy must become positive otherwise the masses would not hesitate to bring them right through force. He said that the people, who generously gave the land of the graves of their forefathers for the sake of nation’s interest, to protect their right was his faith. We will even render live in the struggle for the resolution of the problems being faced by those who sacrifice for country and nation,” he pledged.
