KARACHI  - Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested dozens of suspected criminals and proclaimed offenders in a crackdown against lawbreakers in different areas of Karachi. Officials said East Zone police carried out an operation in different restive parts of the city and rounded up some 38 accused, including 15 proclaimed offenders. The police said illegal arms were also recovered from the suspected criminals.
At least 14 people, including a doctor, have been killed in Karachi over the past 24 hours as political violence continued in the economic hub of Pakistan.
