LARKANA– A 3-year-old girl Aimna, daughter of Pinyal Shaikh, died of measles in village Shikari Shaikh near Naudero after fighting the virus for four days. The number of deaths due to measles has risen to 17 in and around Naudero.  Her father who is a Sui Southern Gas employee and a notable of the village named Hayat Shaikh said that a team had visited their village two weeks before and vaccinated all the children.
He was astonished that after proper vaccination their girl died which shows that the vaccines are substandard. He demanded the government to order a high level inquiry into the negligence.
Dr Ghulam Mustafa Khuhro, in-charge of the EPI programme said that it is really worrisome that a child has expired even after vaccination.
The in-charge confirmed the team's visit to the village. He also said that he would send a report to the higher authorities about the sad incident.
