FAISALABAD/KHANEWAL/SARGODHA/ARIFWALA - At least 10 persons including two women were killed and seven others including four women and a child were injured in separate incidents of enmity, violence and road accidents over the past 24 hours.
In Faisalabad the Thikrwala Police claimed that seven persons were killed in separate incidents during over the past 24 hours. According to detail, 20-year-old Waqas alias Mittho of Chak 74-JB was shot dead by his rivals on late the other night. In another incident, Muhammad Latif, a resident of Chak 8-JB was asleep in his house when his rivals entered the house and shot him dead. Another Shahzad was hit to death with an iron rod by his rival identified as Naveed in Chak 100-RB in the remit of Khuraraiwala Police. In the Jaranwala Police precinct, 25-year-old Muhammad Imtiaz alias Mazhar Ali was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Chak 257-GB whereas Sagheer Ahmad was killed in Chak 89-GB.
In City Tandlianwala, an unidentified cyclist was run over by a speeding truck on the Sammundar-Tandlianwala Road whereas factory worker Qaisar of Chak 202-RB was reportedly killed by his co-worker Abid. Similarly in KHANEWAL, a person committed suicide over domestic issue here on Sunday. Muhammad Nawaz, the father of five children committed suicide following a quarrel with his wife the other night. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
In SARGODHA, a woman died while seven others injured when a passenger van overturned due to bursting of tyre here on Sunday. According to details, a speedy passenger hiace with more than 10 people onboard overturned near 92 Morr when the driver lost control of the vehicle following bursting of the front tyre. Resultantly, 45-year-old Zareena Bibi was killed while seven others including four women and a child sustained wounds. The police and rescue personnel rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to hospital.
In ARIFWALA, a woman was killed by three persons over a land dispute in 11/EB village here on Sunday. According to details, the deceased identified as Razia Bibi, wife of Muhammad Nawaz was working in the fields when the accused Muhammad Yasin along with two accomplices opened fire, killing her on the spot.
The police shifted the body to THQ Hospital for autopsy and launched investigation into the incident.
