ISLAMABAD - Seven Pakistani students on Thursday received silver and bronze medals in Global Round of international competition SEAMO-X.
The competition was held online. Students from all around the world took part in the competition.
A total of 45 students from Pakistan participated in the global round of SEAMO-X. Asad Bin Shahab from Lahore Grammar School Grade 11 and Syed Ghazain Abbas Shah from The Cedar School Grade 7 won silver medals. Dawood Usman from Lahore Grammar School Grade 1, Khadija Haroon from Lahore Grammar School DHA Grade 7, Mir Zain Mahmood from Aitchison College Grade 8, Ahmad Saeed Zaidi from Lahore Grammar School Grade 11 and Huzaifa Altmash from Lahore Grammar School Grade 11 won bronze medals. The rest of the students received merit and credit certificates.
SEAMO is an international Math Olympiad competition that is currently held in over 20 countries with over 50,000 participants. Since 2015, it has helped students gain global recognition in the field of mathematics and widened the network of Southeast Asian Math Olympians to encourage sharing of mathematical knowledge among countries within the region.
In the process, it provides encouragement to students as they build their passion for mathematics. Moreover, winners of SEAMO 2021 got the opportunity to represent their country in the global round SEAMO X 2022, where they had a chance to be shortlisted for scholarships.
