Over 1500 receive free treatment at MTI BKMC    

Peshawar - Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC) after getting the status of Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) has provided treatment to more than 264000 patients in 2021, whereas 384000 different kinds of tests had been done through the year as per the MTI BKMC data for 2021 released here on Monday. 

MTI Bacha Khan Medical Complex, teaching hospital of Gajju Khan Medical College released annual data of 2021 revealing that just in four months more than 1500 patients received free treatment under ‘KP Sehat Sahulat Programme.’ Hospital Director Dr Khalid Masud said that daily OPD has been increased by hundred percent as before MTI our daily OPD was 700 to 800 which is now up to 1300 to 1400 daily. 

Yearly data of 2021 reveals that from January 2021 to December 2021, more than 94,350 accident victims were treated. 

Similarly, one lakh 48 thousand and 976 patients were facilitated in Out Patients Department (OPD) while more than 20 thousand patients were admitted in different wards.  

According to the data, during 2021 about 2000 operations were performed in MTI BKMC, the highest number 2223 operations performed only in the month of November 2021. Similarly in 2021, more than 385,200 tests were conducted in the hospital including X-Ray, ECG, ECHO, Lab, ECG CJT, CT scan, Litho, ETT, Mammography, Endoscopy, Dialysis and Triage. 

Referring to performance report, Hospital Director Dr Khalid Masud said the hospital was given the status of MTI in July 2021 and on a very short period of time there was clear difference in treatment, hygiene and other facilities. Despite unfavourable conditions in Covid-19, the doctors here performed well and were always available to the public at the hospital, HD added.
