Shahbaz Bhatti laid to rest in Faisalabad

Funeral of Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti was held in Faisalabad on Friday at his native village in Khush Pur, where he was buried in his ancestral graveyard. The body of late Shahbaz Bhatti was brought to his native village by an helicopter from Islamabad. Afterwards his body was shifted to a church, where his last prayers were held. Alexander John Malik, Bishop of Lahore delivered the funeral sermon, which was attended by people from all walks of life. Two brothers of the assassinated minister Shahbaz Bhatti, who was gunned down in Islamabad on Wednesday, urged the media to play its role in creating public awareness about extremism and its negative socio-economic impact. They said the threat of terrorism could only be faced through collective efforts. Bhattis brothers who are settled in Italy and Canada reached their native village to attend the funeral of their brother Shahbaz Bhatti.
