Two schools blown up in Mohmand, Mardan

MOHMAND AGENCY Another government-run school was blown up in Tehsil Safi of Mohmand Agency early Wednesday. As per details, the Government Primary School for Boys situated at Sagai village in Tehsil Safi was blown up with explosives planted inside the schools building by unidentified miscreants. The sources said that the building of the school was partly destroyed, however, no human casualty was reported, as there was nobody present at the time of the blast. Soon after the blast, personnel of the law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site and launched a search operation, however, no arrest was made. It is worth-mentioning here that a day earlier, a girls primary school was also destroyed by miscreants, for which, the TTP had claimed responsibility. Blowing up the latest government school for boys by the miscreants climbed the numbers of schools up to 62 lone in Mohmand Agency in last two years. Our staff reporter adds from Mardan: Meanwhile, in Mardan militants blew up a Government Girls Middle School in Par Hoti Tuesday night, police said. The militants had planted explosive device in the Girls Middle School in Abdul Haq Bacha Banda, Fatma Road located in Par Hoti police station limits Tuesday night. The explosive device blown with a bang at 12 midnight, and as a result, room of the school was partially damaged. No casualty was reported because no one was present at that time in the school. Local Sources told that watchman of the school was also absent from the school. Sources further told that all over the district and especially in the city areas the watchmen of the government schools dont perform their duties properly and remain absent from the school in the night time due to which militants easily target the government schools. In 2009 militancy was in full rise in Mardan and militants targeted the government and private property in the district but these activities were controlled by the end of 2009 and in 2010 these activates became less but for the last few months militants again started these activities in Mardan district.
