38 petrol pumps fined for overcharging

HAFIZABAD
The Special Price Magistrates challaned 38 petrol pump owners on the charge of selling petrol above fixed rates and imposed total fine of Rs5,78,000 across the district.
Meanwhile, Regional/District Transport Authority (RDTA) Secretary Saeed Ahmad Khan has challaned 28 transporters on overcharging and realized total fine of Rs24,600.
He also challaned six filling station owners on the charge of selling petrol in black market and collected total fine of Rs43,000.
The district administration warned the transporters and owners of filling station to desist from overcharging otherwise they would be dealt with sternly.
TWO BOOK: The police registered two separate cases against Molvi Muhammad Ramzan of a Masjid on Qabristan Road and Ashgar Ali of Channi Churerra on the charge of violating Amplifier Act.
The accused had misused louds-peakers in their places of worship in violation of the restriction imposed on use of loud-speaker.
Under the law, the loud-speaker can be used in mosques only for Azan and Khutba. Mounting of loudspeakers outside mosques and other worship places is also prohibited.
