ISLAMABAD - A charity event titled ‘MF Golf Tournament 2021’ organized by the Moawin Foundation (MF) concluded here at the Margalla Greens Golf Club (MGGC) on Sunday. The purpose of the said event was to raise funds for vulnerable children of remote areas of Pakistan. More than 80 golfers participated in the event. President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral M Amjad Khan Niazi NI (M), and prominent golf players from the federal capital featured in the event. The tournament was played over 18 holes in categories including amateurs, ladies, and juniors. The longest drive was 286 yards and awarded to Cdre Imran Ifthikhar. The closest to pin was awarded to Maj (R) Masood Latif. Ms Ami Qin and Mrs Ayesha Fouzan were awarded winners of the ladies category and Mrs Shahnaz Salim and MrsFaranaz Bajwa were the runner-up team. In the junior category, Abdullah Khalid and Saad Rana were the winners however, Irtaza Hussain and Shayan Zia were runners-up. The men’s category team event was won by Brig Khalid Abbasi and Brig M Ahmad. The first runners-up of men category were Umair Saleem and Bilal Tariq followed by second runners-up Cdr Tipu and Shehryar Ali Khan. The chief guest of the event was Admiral M Amjad Khan Niazi NI (M) while other guests included Chairman Moawin Foundation Admiral (R) Asif Sandila, Syed Wadood Wasti, Zonal Head Northern Zone Bank Al Habib Limited, Air Commodore (R) Nasir Ali Hamdani and Hamid Ali Khan. In the end, shields and awards were distributed to the winners and representatives of Bank Al Habib Private Limited.
